I suppose that it is easy for me to cut my cards because I have done it so often and it wasn’t really till the other day when one of the ladies asked me about them that I thought about how hard it was for me when I first started. This post will be filed under the Tool Tips Section of my Categories on the side bar of this webpage so that you should always be able to refer to it.
Australia’s A4 card measures 29.7 x 21cm. This is different to the American A4.
You will get 2 card bases out of one piece of card.
Card Base: Cut at 14.8cm and then score down the middle at 10.5 (these fit into a C6 size envelope)
I usually put a layer on top at 13.8 x 9.5cm (4 per a4 sheet)
Another layer that works well from the card stock is 7cm by 9.9cm that will get you 9 pieces from a piece of card. Cut lengthwise at 7cm then 9.9cm along each strip.
Of course i will have more layers on my cards, but this should get you started.
Yes, I know it is not Christmas, but it sure is cold enough today for it to be Christmas. The sun was beautiful, but the wind was quite crisp. And Yvette has made some pumpkin soup for dinner which I am really looking forward to. So it is now the time of year to get ready for Christmas and what better way to do that, than to make some Christmas cards.
On Saturday I held my first Christmas Stamp-a-Stack for the year. This is one of the cards we made.
It is a shame the shimmer doesn’t show up very well in the picture. To make this card you would need a selection of different sized snowflake stamps. Then you need to use three different shades of the same colour inks. In this case I used blue, but I think that rich razzleberry, regal rose, pretty in pink and pink pirouette would make a gorgeous pink card. The sentiment needs to be quite bold so that the pattern in the snowflakes do not overpower it. This is layered onto Brushed Silver card (124918 $13.95 pk 10) and then onto whisper white (106549 $15.95 pk 40) and sprayed with frost white shimmer paint (116854 $11.50) made into a spray with rubbing alcohol.
Come and make some Christmas cards like this one at my next Christmas Stamp-a-Stack on Saturday 21st of July at 1pm. Call 0418612096 or email me to book !
